Melanie has been in the legal industry for over 20 years, beginning her journey as a Receptionist in a law firm in Sydney which mainly practiced debt collection. Melanie then dabbled in the areas of insurance litigation, workers compensation and family law. Nothing really inspired her until she began to work in the conveyancing area.
Melanie decided to work for a number of different firms in Sydney in temporary roles to get a grasp of the different ways solicitors and conveyancers practice. Nearly every role that Melanie began as a temporary role ventured into a full time position, within some of the most prestigious law firms in Sydney.
Then, she decided to begin her tertiary education to become a licenced conveyancer. The course was studied through Macquarie University via correspondence. This was undertaken over a period of approximately 3 ½ years. During this process Melanie had three beautiful children and at one stage was living as far as Weipa (in the Cape York Peninsula).
Upon completing her education, Melanie decided that instead of working for other people, she should begin her own conveyancing company. She opened her own company in 2013 from home in the quite little neighbourhood of Luddenham so that she could continue to look after her children and to work at the same time. After a year, it became obvious that she would have to move the business into a larger office so that she could employ staff to help out as she had become quite busy very quickly.
Melanie has now employed Emma Phillips who has just completed her tertiary education and is happily awaiting the arrival of her first child.
